Lavenda, with a glint of determination in her eyes, shared her dream during a recent conversation with Beyond Support Foundation. “I’ve always had this passion for helping people, and becoming a nurse has been my dream since I can remember. I want to make a difference in people’s lives, especially those who, like me, have faced challenges. The only thing holding me back is the financial barrier – the fees required for nursing school.”
She expressed her gratitude for the opportunities provided by BSF but spoke earnestly about her desire for further support. “I appreciate everything Beyond Support Foundation has done for me today, especially for the basic necessities that will support my child, me and my mum. What I need most is assistance with the nursing school fees. If BSF could help me with that, it would be the key to unlocking my full potential. I believe that with the right support, I can achieve my dream of becoming a nurse and contribute even more to my community.”
Lavenda’s plea highlights the broader aspirations of teenage single mothers who, despite facing financial constraints, harbor dreams of pursuing higher education and meaningful careers. Beyond Support Foundation, recognizing the potential for positive change in Lavenda’s journey, will consider avenues for providing educational scholarships or financial aid to empower her to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.
As Beyond Support Foundation continues its impactful work, addressing the specific aspirations and challenges of individuals like Lavenda ensures a more personalized and targeted approach, fostering a sense of hope and opportunity within the teenage single mother community in Kibera.”
