The ongoing Door-to-Door Program conducted by Beyond Support Foundation on August 13, 2023, successfully achieved its objective of providing support and understanding the challenges faced by teenage single mothers. Pregnant and parenting adolescents faces several adversities such as social stigma, lack of emotional support, poor healthcare access, and stresses around new life adjustments. The in-person interactions not only enriched the foundation’s knowledge but also reinforced its commitment to providing personalized assistance to this vulnerable demographic.

All the young mothers who reached out to BSF expressed a shared desire: to acquire education or skills that could empower them to transform their lives and provide for their babies. While BSF has been able to provide limited assistance, our efforts are constrained by insufficient funds. In order to better aid these teenage mothers and others like them, we earnestly seek additional funding. We extend our appeal to individuals and organizations, inviting you to join us in supporting this crucial cause. Your contribution will make a meaningful impact. Thank you for choosing to stand with us and support our mission.
Experiences reported;
1.Lack of Emotional/Relationship Support:
Teenage mothers faced significant emotional distress, as they lacked essential support from both their partners and family members. The distress was compounded by the abandonment of partners once pregnancy was confirmed.
2.Social Stigma:
The most prominent challenge these young mothers encountered was the pervasive social stigma, stemming from family members, particularly male figures. This stigma cast a shadow of unacceptability, leading to feelings of shame and isolation for the girls involved.
3.Life Adjustment Stress:
The burden of poverty among these young mothers exacerbated the stress of their situation. Financial insecurity, compounded by the abrupt halt in education upon pregnancy, added to their challenges. The struggle to manage pregnancy, caring for a baby, and the desire to secure employment further heightened their stress levels.
